Environmental Advocacy: Social Gardening

Environmental Advocacy Committee

On April 11, 2023 Shearly Socials brought our new members and their sponsors together to make our Garden even more beautiful. Thank you for all your hard work!

Check back for new opportunites in Fall 2023.

The Fort Worth Garden Club Environmental Advocacy Committee presents environmental tips at each club meeting. In the past year topics included:

  • Water Conservation Tips for the Home
  • Fort Worth Land Conservation
  • Why Birds are Vanishing
  • The Problem with Plastics
  • Environmental Impact of Farmers’ Markets

This committee is sponsoring the Social Gardening team (volunteers from our club getting together during Autumn and Spring to lend their helping hands weeding, planting, pruning, and mulching at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden).

We are seeking more members for our committee. If you are interested, please contact the Chairman, Janis Brous at (817) 846-2561 or moc.duolciobfsctd@suorbsinaj.

What are Shearly Socials?

Social Gardening is our committee’s newest program.

Club volunteers will get together to lend a helping hand weeding, planting, pruning, and mulching at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. It will be a great opportunity for our volunteers to gain a few new skills, develop new friendships, and of course, have fun!
